This is a must read. It is disturbing to me that, before reading this book, I never knew Elizabeth Packard's name. The "story of the forgotten woman who courageously fought for her own freedom--and in so doing freed millions more." She "challenged the medical science of the day, and led to a giant leap forward in human rights." I did have to listen at a higher speed than usual because I was so frustrated and angry during the reading haha.

I'd give this book a solid 9 for the portion describing Powell's expeditions down the Colorado. The rest of the book focused more on politics so it wasn't as engaging for me. Also, keep in mind that it was written in 1954 and therefore reflects the prevailing views/language/prejudices of the time.

The adventures of Nomad on a strange, unknown-to-him planet. It started slow for me, but the ending was great.
